Hello fourth and fifth grade families, welcome to our class website!
This website is where you will be able to find everything that you will need to know about the upcoming school year. I will post updates about the week in review and about upcoming events. The best part of our website will definitely be the photographs of the students working hard and having fun throughout their days at school!
There are some important tabs along the right side of the page.
I know that we still have about 4 weeks left of the summer, but I have noticed some Back to School sales popping up, so here is our list:
Supply List:
Please make sure you keep reading. Reading logs can be turned in within the first couple of weeks of school to be entered into the summer raffle for the bike and other prizes. I read a really fun, unique book titled Wild Robot by Peter Brown. If you are unsure about what to read next I would recommend it!

There are some important tabs along the right side of the page.
- The first one brings you to our school's website. Mrs. Canales posts the school newsletter to that site weekly and the lunch menu will be updated monthly. There will also be other important information regarding whole school events.
- The second and third tabs outline the things that fourth and fifth graders will be learning this year in literacy and in math.
- The Mystery Readers tab is a very fun tab and describes one way for adults to be a part of our classroom!
- The greek and latin word study tab will become more important later in the year when we begin that challenge.
- The SBAC practice tab directs you to a website where students can take a practice version of the state test.

- Colored pencils (no plastic coatings please!)
- Crayola Markers (thin or broad or both)
- Cap erasers
- 24 Ticonderoga pencils (Many pencil brands ruin the sharpeners in the classroom; any with a plastic coating/wrapper will ruin our sharpener!)
- Expo markers, thin or broad

I will post again before school begins on August 31st. I am hoping that both adults and students will complete some homework that I include in the next post! Can you believe it? Your new teacher is going to give you homework before school even begins!
This doesn't bode well…..
I won't be asking you to write about your summer, like Calvin's teacher, but if I did I certainly hope you wouldn't ask your imaginary stuffed animal to do it!
Have a great few weeks and I will post again soon,
Mrs. Morrissey
